Tca’s Taveta Geographical Location
TCA is located in Taveta, a Sub-County of Taita-Taveta County, Kenya, East Africa. Taveta town, where TCA is located, lies at the South East part of Kenya, just at the border between Kenya and the Reupblic of Tanzania, at the foot of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain.
Taveta, though remote, is a fast growing town. It is about 290 miles from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital City. The roads are well tarmacked from Nairobi to Taveta via Voi town.
There are various tourist attraction sites which our visitors and Mission teams/groups would love to visit before or after involvement with the TCA Project. Some of these sites are: Lake Jipe, where hippos and crocodiles can be seen, Lake Chala, one of the world’s largest crater lakes; home of velvet monkeys, baboons, monitor lizards and many bird species. What is more, Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Game Parks are located here, not far away from TCA, where many wild animals such as the elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, lions, zebras, hyenas, gazelles among other animals are found. Watching these animals with the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro at the background will be sure to create lasting memories with the desire to return!
TCA has partnered with Cascades Africa Safaris, YOUR HOST IN AFRICA, to ensure our visitors and mission teams and groups have a smooth travel experience right from the Airport when they land, to the hotels, to our Center and projects, to the tourist attraction sites and game parks incase they would want to visit, and back to the Airport for a safe flight back home.
There are also world class hotels within Taita-Taveta County where TCA is located, including the Award winning Salt-Lick Safari Lodge, Taita Hills Safari Resort, Ziwani Voyager Hotel, Lions Bluff among others. These would ensure a comfortable stay while getting involved with TCA’s community projects.
